We've got them on the ropes

You know, I just keep holding to the belief that the world is moving towards a better state of understanding.

Did we really believe that a monster like the aristocratic hegemony would die without causing as much damage as possible?

As a global people, we have moved past imperialism, we defeated the Nazis, we fought and won major victories in the ongoing civil rights movement, we have made apartheid a thing for the history books. 

We have so much farther to go, but at the end of a show i watched once, two men looked up at the night sky.  One man asked the other who he though was winning, the light or the dark. 

the other man said there was a whole lot more dark up there than light

the first man said, "Yes, but once, it was all dark. I think we've got them on ropes."
